About Us
www.stamps.co.uk is a family owned internet
retail business run by Becky and Simon. Becky is in charge
of day to day running and is the crafty one, while Simon
is the Web and technical man. It was started in February
2004 with the website going live in September 2004. We were
very small back then with only a small range of about 200
products and the stock/packing room was attached to the
house. Now however with over 5000 products we have 800 square
foot premises in the centre of our village – very
conveniently for Becky above the Tea Rooms! We have four
great staff whom work extremely hard: packing, checking
stock and attending to all the other jobs that need doing.
Our aims…
To pack & despatch your order on the same
or next working day when all items are in stock.
To answer email/phone enquiries within 2 working
days.
To be up front about stock levels so you can
see in your basket what’s in stock and what’s
not.
If we make a mistake (& we are only human)
to put it right as soon as possible.
What we do…
Parcels are sent 2nd Class or Parcel Post.
This keeps postage costs low (£2.95 for £29.99
or less & FREE for £30+) and because we pack so
quickly we easily compete with companies who send 1st!
At our discretion large orders or those that
weigh over 2kg are sent Royal Mail Parcels or Courier for
Next Day Delivery.
Gifts – if you let
us know an order is a gift we will if possible wrap &
label it for no extra charge. This is a FREE service just
tell us in the comments box at checkout and choose the alternative
delivery address. We will even delay despatch if required.
YouWantIt!WeGetIT! sections
are for those who let to be distinctive in their creativity.
As some of the more unusual or niche products are not kept
in stock, but where this is the case they will be ordered
especially for you, while the remainder of your order is
despatched in the normal manner. These items have a * at
the front of the product code and it will tell you this
in the product description.
Out of stock items –
when a item routinely kept in stock runs out, you will be
made aware as you check out – we may keep your order
until these items come back into stock. Again this helps
keep the postage costs low.
Newsletter – this is
sent out once a month to all those who choose to subscribe
when they create an account. Occasionally, when we have
fantastic promotions or items lots of people have been waiting
for, we send out a brief interim letter.
Re-cycling - we do this as
much as possible by re-using boxes, envelopes and packaging
materials wherever possible.
We re-invest in our stock to give you a continually
growing choice – we do not spend money on big ads!
