Mother's Day Card

It’s Mothering Sunday on March 26th so I thought I’d share with you the card I’ve made for my Mum. Fortunately, she’s a knitter so doesn’t get my newsletter!

You will need:

White card 12.5x12.5cm, 5x5cm, 5x2.5cm

Dual Tipped Acid Free Embossing Pens:
Tangerine (DE2)
Lemon Yellow (DE1)
Peony Purple (DE6)
Pansy (DE7)
Double Sided Tape fingerlift & easytear (2735)
2mm & 3mm mounting pads (S57050 & S56973)

1) Using the Peony Purple Embossing pen, colour directly on to the ‘You are Special…’ stamp, but not the ‘S’. Do this next with the Tangerine pen. Stamp the coloured in stamp onto white card. Sprinkle with clear embossing powder, tap off and heat with heat gun. Trim centrally to 5x2.5cm

2) Using the Lemon Yellow Embossing pen, colour the centre of the four flowers. Then colour the diagonally opposite flowers in Peony Purple and Pansy. Stamp onto white card and emboss with clear embossing powder.

3) Using the embossing pens: colour in the two diagonally opposite flowers in tangerine and Peony Purple and emboss with clear powder. Trim card centrally to 5x5cm.

4) Cut a piece of pink handmade rainbow paper to 6x6cm and the yellow handmade rainbow paper to 7.5x5.5cm. Using double sided tape position these on your 12.5x12.5 white card. The fingerlift tape is a 6mm tape on a 12mm backing which makes lifting the tape really easy – if you have not got this a glue stick would be better.

5) Clean the Four Flower stamp thoroughly. Using the embossing pens colour two side by side flowers lemon yellow in the centres, then one flower in pansy and the other in Peony Purple. Stamp these two flowers, the Pansy coloured upper most, at an angle in the to right of the card and emboss using clear powder.

6) Repeat step 4 but for one Peony Purple flower on the bottom left of the card.

7) Attach the white card centrally to the Fuchsia Card using double sided tape. Using 2mm mounting pads on each corner attached the four flowers and 3mm mounting pads on each corner attach the Your are Special to me.

8) Finally, add a small fuschia adhesive stone to the centre of the top right flower of the four and a medium stone to the top right of the You are Special to me.

As you can see the embossing pens really do allow you to print in colour, but remember lightest colour first! All embossing pens are on offer for March only at £1.50 (RRP £2).
